For my vector illustration, I chose to use a picture of a beach scene because the beach is my favorite place. I started out just using the pen tool to trace the major shapes, and then used the pencil tool for some of the more flexible shapes. I used the eyedropper tool to make some of the colors match the original photograph, while other colors I chose by myself. I had some trouble when it came to showing texture in the shapes. Below is the original photo that I used for my illustration:
